Round One, Pick Three – EDGE Will Anderson Jr., Alabama

As Jalen Carter is off the board, it leaves Will Anderson Jr. as an obvious selection. Some thought went into trading down, but it’s simply foolish to pass up Anderson here. Anderson is ready for the pros and brings rare upside as a number one pass rusher. He’ll immediately be a key defensive leader and impose physicality in run defense. Only seldom times will you get a perennial all-pro like Anderson at pick three.

Round Two, Pick 34 – EDGE B.J. Ojulari, LSU

Yes, EDGE was just taken, and there are a lot of positions of need for Arizona, but assembling a dominant pass rush is priority number one. Johnathon Gannon rarely blitzes more than four and uses a quarters/match-heavy scheme. Acquiring B.J. Ojulari, who would fill Haason Reddick’s role, would put this team in the best position. Ojulari is explosive and bendy with legit moves. He may struggle in run defense, but he’s a terrific compliment to Will Anderson Jr. While it’s controversial, two EDGEs are needed, and Ojulari is a borderline first-round talent.

Round Three, Pick 66 – CB Cam Smith, South Carolina

This selection would excite many Cards fans as Cam Smith is considered a first-second round talent, and it fills a position of need. While Marco Wilson had a solid year, you can’t trust him as your only young option. Cam Smith has good day-one traits as he flashed many high-end moments at South Carolina. He may have a lower upside due to his long speed, but he excels in the technical aspect of the game. While it’s hard to see him realistically falling to the Cards, you can’t go wrong with this pick.

Round Three, Pick 96 – IOL Andrew Vorhees, USC

Guard is in a position of need as both starters from 2022 are Free Agents. With the compensatory pick, the most apparent selection was Andrew Vorhees, who should be able to plugin at Guard. He is an experienced starter and brings a toughness you love to see. Additionally, he is all-around good at blocking and has excellent play strength. Vorhees, while lacking upside, is a safe guy to start day one.
