Offensive Tackle is one of those positions you always tend to invest highly in. Even if guys aren’t exactly pro-ready, you still generally take a shot at them early if they have the traits to develop. This year Broderick Jones is that guy that’s raw but has the upside to be a dominant NFL player. He played LT at Georgia and put up impressive pass-protection numbers, only giving up nine pressures. His high-end athletic traits were demonstrated countless times at Georgia. The big question is can he put it all together and become a quality starter? I dove deep into his film to find that out and give a comprehensive analysis of his strengths and weaknesses here.
Three all-22 games and two other games were evaluated, and clips from his film are broken down here. All relevant traits were graded based on his film. His scouting report also factored in stats and analytics, such as PFF grades. Use promo code TREYSCHNEIDER on Underdog Fantasy to match your deposit up to $100. In this clip above, Jones holds up in pass-pro very well. The EDGE tries to gain outside leverage, but Jones gets a good kick slide and latches on to the EDGE.
In this clip, he flashes a dominant rep. He gets help from the other O-lineman, but he gives up no space and willfully pushes the pass rusher into the other lane.
Here he shows how incredible his athleticism is as he makes a key block on the DB. To have the speed to get to that area so quickly is quite impressive.

Final Conclusion
Broderick Jones is a bit of a gamble, as he simply may not pan out, but he is still worth taking a risk on in the mid-late first round. The athletic tools and length is just too good to pass up if in need of a Tackle.
