Cam Smith is a very exciting cornerback prospect, as he’s an uber-confident corner with great all-around skills. He clearly learned a thing or two from his former teammate Jaycee Horn who was also a very aggressive-minded and confident corner. Their press-man coverage technique looks very similar, and both play with the same play style. He made a name for himself in 2021 and was mostly avoided by opposing QBs in 2022. This has made his production seem worse than how he actually plays, but he definitely still brings it on film. Watching him was very fun, and it turned out to be one of the most interesting breakdowns.
Two all-22 games and three other regular games were evaluated, and clips from his film are broken down here. All relevant traits were graded based on his film. Stats and analytics, such as PFF grades, were also factored into his scouting report. Use promo code TREYSCHNEIDER on Underdog Fantasy to match your deposit up to $100. In this clip above, Cam Smith makes a phenomenal play in single coverage. He flips his hips well and times the pass breakup perfectly in a big moment.
Here, he’s in man coverage using a trail technique. He doesn’t get targeted but has steller coverage.
In this Twitter clip, he further demonstrates how impressive he is.
