Tyree Wilson is a personal favorite as he’s just the right type of EDGE you’d want as a true number one. This is because of his massive size and long arms, combined with his power-rush skillset. Not only is he extraordinarily powerful, but he is explosive too. Because he played for Texas Tech and didn’t rack up a bunch of sacks, he hasn’t received a ton of recognition. There are some flaws to his game, but his strengths outway his weaknesses. He has some bust potential if taken in the early first but it’s not like he’s a totally raw player. He’ll likely be a good rotational player in year one and slowly develop into a game-wrecker. In the modern NFL, power rushers are more valuable than ever at EDGE, and Wilson fits that exact prototype.
Two games from his Sophomore year, as well as three games from his Junior year, were evaluated. This scouting report includes grades on all relevant traits which were based on his film. Stats and analytics such as PFF grades were also factored into his scouting report. Use promo code TREYSCHNEIDER on Underdog Fantasy to match your deposit up to $100. Clip Analysis
In this clip above, Wilson converts speed to power excellently despite a slow get-off. The raw power he demonstrates here is elite as the Tackle couldn’t have gotten pushed back quicker.
Here he executes a nice arm-over move and then makes a good tackle. This move requires high-level upper-body strength.
In this one, Wilson blows up a run play in a clutch situation and makes it look easy.

Player Notes
- Tyree Wilson is a pterodactyl at EDGE and has talent that will easily translate to the pros. He is currently ranked 8th on The FBI 2023 Draft Board so far.
Pros
- Reportedly has near 36-inch arms which will likely fall in the 96th percentile.
- His strength and size overwhelm offensive linemen; has a scary bull rush.
- Has a stellar ability to pull off arm-overs and can execute club rips.
- Has already shown the ability to convert speed to power which is a great sign of development,
- Even though he doesn’t time the snap well, he explodes with ease after his first step.
- His massive wingspan allows him to easily make reach-tackles and swat balls away; also allows him to force fumbles easier.
- Has the flexibility to rush as a three-tech, or possibly even a mugging standup linebacker.
- He won on over 20% of his pass-rush snaps and was often making good run-defense stops.
- Has surprisingly good body flexibility – which allows him to bend the corner.
- Has a very refined swim move for only being a college player.
- Steadily improved as a pass rusher throughout college.
Cons
- His first step off the line isn’t as explosive as his natural acceleration; keep an eye out for his broad jump at the combine.
- He’s a late breakout and will be 23 years old by the start of NFL training camps.
- He likely won’t ever be able to rely on pure speed.
- Could grow to have more consistent tackling.
- While he’s capable of rushing with finesse, it won’t be a strength of his.
- He looks a little stiff while sidestepping.
- Likely wouldn’t fit well playing in a 3-4.
