Felix Anudike-Uzomah Scouting Report: A Quite Well-Rounded EDGE

Most prospects have a fair degree of strengths and weaknesses, but Felix Anudike-Uzomah is well-rounded and has no significant strengths. He has a plethora of traits he excelled in and is an all-around good athlete. The catch is he doesn’t have any trump cards and will have to rely on his consistency and effort. He isn’t the most outstanding athlete but can execute a wide array of pass-rush moves. Throughout the past two years, he’s been one of the best EDGEs in college football. Despite not having a tremendous upside, Anudike-Uzomah can be a solid day-one player bringing him great value as an early day-two prospect.

Three all-22 games and two more regular games were evaluated. This scouting report includes grades on all relevant traits based on his film. His scouting report also factored in stats and analytics, such as PFF grades. Use promo code TREYSCHNEIDER on Underdog Fantasy to match your deposit up to $100. Clip Analysis

In this clip above, Anudike-Uzomah makes a splash play in run defense. He is explosive out of stance and quickly identified the run.

Here he sheds a block quickly and gets a sack. He gets a great first step and finishes the Center with a nice swipe move.

This Twitter clip above exemplifies the bend and raw power he has.

Player Notes

Felix Anudike-Uzomah Bio

  • Felix Anudike-Uzomah is a balanced EDGE with a good combo of size and pass-rush moves. He is well-versed in all aspects of the game. He is currently ranked 34th on The FBI 2023 Draft Board.

Pros

  • Had a consistently productive college career.
  • A very impressive first step that’s well-timed and consistent.
  • Ideal size and arm length to play EDGE in any scheme.
  • A creative and tough-minded pass rusher.
  • Has an effective cross-chop and push-n-pull.
  • Has plenty of bend to pull off certain pass-rush moves such as the rip move.
  • Works his pass rush moves very well off the bull rush – a very smart pass rusher.
  • Quick reaction time and can sniff out screens.
  • Play strength is a plus.
  • Saw a lot of double teams and physically was able to hold up.

Cons

  • Not one of his physical attributes sticks out.
  • The ability to convert speed to power is middling.
  • Lacks power in his punches.
  • None of his pass-rush moves are truly devastating to opponents – doesn’t win in a dominant fashion.
  • A bit too lean for a 4-3 scheme.

Final Conclusion

Anudike-Uzomah, while not the flashiest prospect, is a complete EDGE with pro-ready traits. The fact he can fit any scheme makes him more desirable. I also like how he has few weaknesses yet still has room to improve. He should be considered in the late first and is excellent value in the second round.
