OT Ikem Ekwonu Bio

Player Notes

  • Ekwonu is a generational talent as a run-blocker; with all-around elite strength and elite get-off, combined with his toughness and mentality, he completely dominated at the college level, and there’s no reason his skill wouldn’t translate to the NFL
  • The kind of elite strength he has combined with his mobility makes it very difficult for D-lineman to not get moved on rushing plays
  • While only being 6’4″ and 310 lbs, he has a massive frame and is built with absurd lean muscle; could play linebacker with his athletic traits
  • Will fit in any run-blocking scheme and can easily play either Gaurd or Tackle
  • Has a good anchor and great grip strength to rely on while in the process of developing which gives him a solid floor as a pass-protector
  • Despite having the physical capabilities while giving up hardly any pressures his final season, he needs to significantly improve his pass protection in regards to his technique and consistency if he wants to be a star player
  • While he clearly has elite strength and excelled in duo blocking schemes, his run-blocking on gap schemes, in general, could still improve pretty significantly
  • Better fit as an RT rather than an LT, would also be a better guard, however, his value is best at tackle
