For whatever reason, Olu Fashanu didn’t truly appeal to me initially. However, after digging into his all-22, I see the top-five hype. He graded out as an average run blocker in 2022 but looked absurdly talented as a pass blocker. Since then, he has improved all around. His run blocking still leaves a little to be desired, although he has incredible raw physical traits that give him immense potential. He’s a technically sound player and decided to stay an extra year, so he has additional experience under his belt. There’s a lot to love about Olu, and we’ll get into what he does best and what he struggles with in this article.

Olu Fashanu does an excellent job of blocking this spin move in the clip above. He does a good job of not oversetting and is ready for the inside move.
Olu shows a fantastic anchor in this clip as the EDGE attempts a bull rush. Right as he initiated contact, he got his hands right in his chest, where he was able to win the rep.

After watching four all-22 games from Olu Fashanu, it’s easy to see why he’s getting mocked in the top five, even in a loaded class. In my four years of watching film on prospects, no Tackle has stood out like Olu. Charles Cross was very polished and refined coming out, but I don’t even think he’s quite as good as Olu is in pass-pro. The run blocking is a work in progress, but in a passing league, he’d bring excellent value to a franchise. Teams like the Patriots, Packers, and Raiders could really use a player like Olu and will have a shot at him this year. It was a surprise he stayed last year, but this time around, he’s looking like a bonafide top-ten pick.
